The Community Fund gave the original funding for the Hope Clinic, Jasper Area Family Resource Center, the SCIMP medication program for Walker County RSVP. It also has given more than $4 million to nonprofit organizations in the Walker area.
Matthew Crump Fund - Supports the efforts of men and women engaged in emergency response within Walker County, especially those affiliated with Volunteer Fire Departments; and provides material support to special needs citizens of Walker County, primarily through the Special Olympics.
Emergency Unmet Needs Fund – Most recently, this fund has been utilized to accept donations for nonprofits who have applied for but not yet received their nonprofit status and are focused on meeting the emergency unmet needs of Walker County residents. The unmet needs fund allows them to be raising funds needed to operate while waiting on the official paperwork.
Excellence in Education Fund – This fund is to support the Jasper City School system and its teachers with expenses not included in the general budget. Grants may be made for teacher conferences, guest speakers, class field trips, etc.
Hope Clinic Fund – This fund goes directly into the Hope Clinic which is a nonprofit organization that provides health care at no charge to qualified, uninsured residents of Walker County. The clinic is staffed by volunteer medical personnel.
Jasper Recreational Fund – In January 2008, the community foundation combined the Natatorium and APEX Funds to create the Jasper Recreational Fund with a mission to support the expansion of recreational opportunities and programs, making Jasper’s recreational package exceptional for Alabama.
Sherer Family Foundation Fund – Supports first the aesthetics of our community and second the fine arts of the Walker Area, its facilities, grounds, and environs.
Samuel Lee Smith Advised Fund - This fund helps children and youth live their lives to the fullest by making grants to encourage strong health, athletics, scouting, religion and the arts – especially to those who need financial assistance.
